ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologists® are healthcare professionals with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and practical experience who provide exercise-related consulting for research, public health, and other clinical and non-clinical services and programs. In addition to prescribing exercise and lifestyle management, ACSM CEPs are also qualified to manage cardiac and pulmonary risks, training, and rehabilitation.
Our Main Message
When injuries occur, education pertaining to the cause of the complaint is crucial to achieving long-term success following the pain and/or injury. It is important that a person understands what has taken place to allow the pain/injury to occur and, in addition to treatment, how to decrease the chances of reinjury.
When I first saw Dr. Nathan Williams, I had a winged scapula on the right side with muscle spasms so severe that I had difficulty even raising my right arm. As a competitive age group triathlete, this was devastating. Dr. Williams knew exactly what to do, and had me back on track in time for my races. After seeing several other medical professionals and being told that “nothing could be done”, this was above and beyond expectations. I am impressed with his thoroughness, professionalism, expertise, and personal commitment – he has since helped convince me to seek further treatment for foot pain (which turned out to be a stress fracture), as well as assisted me in getting an appointment with a sports orthopedic for a severe ankle sprain involving some torn ligaments. I would drive four hours to see him, and knowing this he helped me find an excellent ART practitioner and chiropractor who is only fifteen minutes away from me. He still consults with the doctor I see and is always willing to help advise on what treatment is best for me. I am so thankful I was lucky enough to find him!
I have been treated by Dr. Nathan for the last year and a half. While being very active in CrossFit and the mother of a two year old (with another baby on the way!), maintaining my health and body is crucial. He has completely rid me of any lower back pain and continues to work towards improvement in my shoulders, hip flexors, and neck.
