Let's explore some common questions about our practice.

What types of conditions does Elite Function treat?

While chiropractic physicians are trained in many aspects of patient care such as general healthcare, nutrition, pediatrics, rehabilitation, etc., Elite Function focuses on sports performance and injury rehabilitation.  Some common conditions seen are:

  • rotator cuff tears
  • labral tears
  • tendinopathies
  • adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder)
  • movement dysfunctions
  • soft tissue adhesions
  • nerve entrapment from a mechanical cause
  • sciatica
  • piriformis syndrome
  • thoracic outlet syndrome
  • faulty gait patterns
  • range of motion problems (both hyper and hypomobility)
  • exercise prescription specific to the needs of the patient
  • and many more variants and similar conditions to those above

What should I expect from treatment?

Treatment approaches can differ among patients based on the condition, but generally, treatment might consist of one or more of the following therapies: chiropractic adjustment(s), manual therapy, myofascial release, percussion/massage, movement analysis/screening, exercise prescription, kinesiotape, and/or Biofreeze.  We see patients in 20 minute slots in order to have ample time to work on anything necessary (the initial visit may take longer due to additional paperwork and physical examination).

How often do I need to come back?

Each condition is different, so each patient's recommendations will be different.  Some patients utilize our practice occasionally in an effort to maintain function during their active lives.  Other patients utilize our services to recover from an injury or to improve performance measures.  In any event, we intend to educate the patient on how to improve/maintain their condition during activities of daily living requiring as few treatments as possible.

Do treatments hurt?

Most patients report that they feel much better nearly immediately following adjustments and soft tissue work.  Sometimes the intervention is uncomfortable momentarily, but Dr. Williams will be sure to explain what you should expect following your visit.  If you have any questions about what to expect, feel free to contact us!
